Job Description
Clerk III of Health Information Management Record Processing University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Department of Health Information Management, Hospital Support Services Building (HSSB), 3281 Ridgeway Drive, Coralville, IA 52241

Annual Salary: $35,984.00 to $53539.20

Type of Position: Regular


Schedule


  • Full Time, 100%, 40 hours per week
  • Additional overtime hours as needed.
  • Tuesday-Saturday, 7:30am-4:00pm (start and end time negotiable)
  • 30 minutes unpaid lunch


Location: Hospital Support Services Building (HSSB)


This position is eligible to participate in remote work. Remote work must be performed at an offsite location within the State of Iowa. Training will be held ONSITE at the Health Care Support Services (HSSB) building at a length determined by the supervisor. Remote eligibility will be evaluated upon a satisfactory job training and meeting required performance standards. Successful candidates must comply with requirements of the remote work program and related policies. Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any conviction history and will be subject to a criminal background check.


Key Areas of Responsibility


  • Perform quality review of scanned/uploaded medical record documents
  • Perform daily statistics and document audits
  • Scan/upload external medical record document into electronic medical record


As part of performing the key areas of responsibility and competencies described above, staff members are expected to meet reasonable standards of work quality and quantity, as well as expectations for attendance established by their supervisor. Staff members are also expected to comply with policies governing employee responsibilities and conduct, including those contained in the University Operations Manual.


Minimum Eligibility Requirements


  • Any combination of related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education, and/or post high school clerical training that is the equivalent to two years of full-time employment.


Desired Qualifications


  • Prefer Epic HIM applications (Chart Deficiency Tracking, Medical Record Tracking, Media Manager, Chart Review, Inbound faxing and scanning), and scanning/importing/QA of documents
