Job Description
Position Summary:
To strengthen the Zeiss component manufacturing team located at our brand new ‘state of the art’ manufacturing facility in Dublin, California, we are seeking an experienced and skilled Manufacturing Technician.
The candidate will assist in the introduction, assembly, test, troubleshooting and repair of CZXRM products. They will be responsible for developing, producing and improving best practices in a cleanroom manufacturing environment to ensure the continuous production of high-quality X-ray microscopes, sub-assemblies and components.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs functions associated with manufacturing operations, including assembling, testing, troubleshooting and repair of high precision electromechanical assemblies and products Performs assembly and manufacturing operations in a clean-room manufacturing environment following all documented processes and procedures Maintains the cleanroom environment through best practice methods and weekly maintenance procedures Acceptance, QA testing and rework of components and assemblies in collaboration with R&D and Manufacturing engineers. Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies Determine and assist in developing methods, processes, and procedures to control, modify and improve the manufacturing process Train other technicians when applicable, in the assembly and testing of assemblies in a productive team environment Alignment, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical assemblies Perform quality nonconformance checks and routine inventory cycle counts Other duties as required
Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Experience working with helium leak detectors.
  • Experience in the following areas preferred:
    • Clean room environment and protocols
    • Familiar with Turbo Pumps and Ultrahigh Vacuum Equipment
    • Familiar with gas/fluid delivery equipment, flanges, and fittings
    • Ability to read and understand machine drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
    • Experience with using hand tools and building high precision assemblies in a clean room
    • Experience working with helium leak detectors.
    • Kanban and Lean manufacturing
    • Microscopes and other inspection tools
    • Working knowledge of MS Office and current Windows systems
    • Generating, reading and red-lining assembly procedures and schematic diagrams based on your own and engineering feedback.

  • Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school along with a minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, or B.S. with 3 years’ experience (preferred) in a related field.

  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee can be exposed to the weather conditions prevalent at the time. In addition, the employee will be exposed to the conditions in the production area and test areas as controlled by the HVAC system and required for the area. The noise level in the work area is usually moderate to extreme. Steel toed shoes will be required.
The hourly pay range for this position is $26.00 -$33.00.
The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
