Claim Representative Trainee - PIP – The Auto Club Group
What you will do:
Complete company Claim training program within 6 to 8 months; including virtual classroom participation and on the job training. Perform routine claims functions independently and group setting, under the supervision of a designated job coach and/or Claim Manager. Receive training in Personal Injury Protection (“PIP”) claim functions. Learn and properly apply the fundamentals of PIP policies and procedures. Learn knowledge and techniques necessary to examine policies, determine extent and type of damage or injury related to all insurance lines.
Additional learning objectives include obtaining necessary documentation to complete file; investigating, evaluating, estimating, negotiating, and resolving various claims, including issuing payments timely and accurately; determining entitled benefits for authorized claimants according to policy coverages; reviewing files for possible fraud and/or subrogation; processing a claim diary and managing a claim backlog. Refer files as appropriate. Learn to review the status of open and closed reserves and make changes consistent with exposure. Learn time management, prioritization, and organization skills. Will process and handle claims during training.
Work Environment
This position is currently able to work remotely from a home office location for day-to-day operations unless occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, or team building activities is specified by leadership. This is subject to change based on amendments and/or modifications to the ACG Flex Work policy.

We’re looking for candidates who:
Preferred Qualifications
Education:

• IIA or CPCU coursework or designation
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance or a related field and/or equivalent coursework and experience

Experience:

• Working independently in a virtual environment
• Processing claims

Knowledge and Skills:

• Claims operations and handling procedures.
• Insurance policy provision
• Claims and/or medical terminology and processing systems.

Required Qualifications
Education:

• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Policy, negligence, and no-fault training
• Completion of company Claims training program within 6-8 months, to include:
• Company general claim policy training
• PIP training
• Injury claim training

Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of:

• Basic math calculations to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentage.
• Telephone etiquette

Ability to:

• Work independently.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Learn, follow, and apply ACG Claim policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Demonstrate customer service skills by building and maintaining relationships with insureds/claimants while exhibiting understanding of their concerns, analyze and solve problems while demonstrating sound decision making skills.
• Demonstrate basic PC software skills (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.)
• Manage time, organize, and plan workload and responsibilities.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills (verbal and written) with others in a work environment and with the public.
• Learn how to work within assigned ACG Claim systems.
• Prioritize claim related functions.
