Job Description

Overview:

Andersen Research Center (ARC) is a groundbreaking hybrid organization that combines cutting-edge research with academic programs to address global challenges in deep-tech sectors. We are seeking an experienced and visionary President and Co-Founder to lead the ideation, creation, and successful launch of our hybrid non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in higher education or non-profit management, extensive experience with fundraising and financial oversight, and a passion for leveraging technology to drive impactful research and education.


Responsibilities:


Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision and long-term goals of ARC, integrating research and academic elements.
  • Identify high-impact technologies and research opportunities in deep-tech sectors to address global challenges, fostering innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Collaborate with universities, industry partners, and stakeholders to establish research partnerships, joint projects, and academic collaborations.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in technology research and academic practices to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of knowledge and innovation.


Fundraising and Financial Oversight:

  • Secure public funding, grants, and private donations to support research initiatives, academic programs, and operational needs.
  • Provide transparent and accurate financial reporting to the board of directors and stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, financial reports, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Cultivate relationships with key donors, philanthropic organizations, government agencies, and academic partners to ensure sustainable funding.


Research and Academic Program Management:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of innovative research projects aligned with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Recruit and lead a diverse team of researchers, faculty members, project managers, and support staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Coordinate research projects and academic activities, allocate resources effectively, and monitor progress towards established goals.
  • Establish and manage academic programs that offer interdisciplinary courses, workshops, and hands-on training in collaboration with universities.


Partnerships and Collaboration:

  • Develop and nurture partnerships with universities, research institutions, industry leaders, and other stakeholders to enhance research and academic collaborations.
  • Collaborate with external organizations and policymakers to advocate for the role of technology in addressing global challenges and driving societal change.
  • Foster knowledge exchange, joint publications, and shared resources to maximize the impact of research and educational initiatives.
  • Represent ARC in conferences, events, and speaking engagements to showcase the organization's work and build strategic alliances.


Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in fundraising and securing grants/donations from public and private sources.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and fostering collaboration.
  • 10+ years of non-profit or higher education experience at an executive or director level, with a track record of success in research and academic initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of deep-tech sectors, research methodologies, and academic program development.
  • Excellent financial acumen and experience in budgeting, financial management, and reporting.
  • A passion for leveraging technology to drive positive social impact and a deep commitment to addressing global challenges.
  • Outstanding communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and advocate for the organization's mission.
