Position Location: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid Role) - Must reside within 2 hours of Raleigh NC.

A member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is responsible for coordinating all strategic initiatives while ensuring leaders have visibility and input regarding projects. Synchronizes and enables the resources necessary to achieve goals and objectives while strengthening internal communications, developing leaders, and creating a sense of belonging for all internal and external members.

The Contributions You Can Anticipate Making


Implement communication and training as well as engagement opportunities designed to motivate employees by demonstrating how their work enables the Credit Union, either directly or indirectly, to positively impact the lives of our members and the communities we serve.


Serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), setting mission, vision, values, policy, and strategy for the company, and influencing industry policy and strategy.


Building a network of collaborative partners that provide expert services to fill gaps.


Building, leading, and managing a team that includes assigned employees, contractors, business partners (vendors) and cross functional teams to achieve targeted business results and outcomes.


Leading and serving on internal committees and Boards and on industry Boards and committees as assigned and/or approved by the CEO.


Act as Coastal's brand steward and develop its strategic direction. Ensure brand consistency in message and visual identity. Ensure the use of consistent messaging and themes to reinforce the brand value and its reflection in initiatives and the members we serve. Provide direction and guidance to the marketing team.


Identify, develop, and maintain key ongoing programs including mentoring, hi-potential development, manager development, and other initiatives designed to develop leadership talent.


Evaluates and advises executive leadership how current/pending strategies and initiatives may impact employee recruitment, motivation, development, and retention.


Establishes and maintains a communication standard that is consistent and effective for all employees. Ensures team members receive timely and relevant information about credit union performance, accomplishments, initiatives, changes, and opportunities to serve.


Develops and directs programs intended to create a sense of pride and belonging so all employees feel appreciated, encouraged, challenged, and supported as they develop and contribute to Coastal's success.


To be successful in this role, you are expected to:


Incorporate competitive analyses, member and consumer preferences and expectations, expert insights, and Coastal's business strategies into compelling near-term roadmaps and longer-term plans for the Employee Experience and Member Experience Divisions.


Architect and manage complex service delivery frameworks and capabilities and solve problems with a time span of two to five years. In consultation with the ELT, determine project priorities from a complex set of priorities.


Design and implement a framework of metrics and key performance indicators that measure the success of the Employee Experience and Member Experience functions and provide key goals for employees in the division.


Develop a highly skilled and experienced team who can execute on your ideas and initiatives and work collaboratively with leaders across the organization to execute.


Be flexible, nimble and adapt to a rapidly changing operating environment.


Persuasively communicate, influence, and motivate others, build rapport, and create a highly collaborative culture in your division.

Experience


  • Five years of strategy design and execution experience
  • Experience in selecting and developing business partnerships with other companies
  • Five years of experience in leading and driving company-wide human resources, communication, training, or marketing initiatives
  • Ten years of people management experience
  • Five years of executive level leadership and management experience
  • Experience in banking, payments, and financial services


Education


  • 5+ years of executive level Marketing, Branding, and Business growth experience or Human Resources and Training experience
  • Bachelors' degree in Marketing, Human Resources or a related field or ten years' related work experience
