At DMU you will make a meaningful contribution to the dynamic future of Medicine and Health Sciences. DMU is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant who performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties within Student Health Services.
What you’ll do:
- Gather clinical information from the patient and other sources. Document clinical information in the patient’s EHR; including taking and recording patient vital signs, medications, allergies, histories, and other clinically relevant information.
- Answer phones, take messages and follow-up on messages from patients, clinicians, and other staff members in a timely manner.
- Schedule new and established patient appointments in electronic health record (EHR). Add insurance, demographic information, and payment information. Update patient and demographic information when needed. Check insurance verification. Add incoming authorizations. Collect copayments and deductibles.
- Welcome students and patients to the clinic.
- Administer medications as ordered by healthcare providers.

- Graduate from a recognized medical assistant or nursing program, plus current license/certification (or have license/certification pending).
