A leading Mining and Metals organization is looking to add a Category Manager CapEx-to their growing team! The Category Manager-CapEx will have the opportunity to manage an annual spend in CapEx services and purchasing. This individual will lead a team of procurement professionals while reporting to the Director of Procurement. This individual will have a focus most heavily on procurement and purchasing of various indirect materials and services. This role is a pivotal and strategic position with exceptional growth opportunity within the organization.
This role will require you to be based in the Dallas, TX area, working on a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite).
Responsibilities of the Category Manager-CapEx:
- Defining the supplier strategy for general goods and services, including supply chain, contracts, and rebates programs.
- Creating and managing the bid process and templates for both e-auctions and paper auctions.
- Enforcing procurement guidelines, the purchasing strategy, supplier selection, contract negotiations and meeting cost avoidance goals.
- Oversee the acquisition of CapEx and ensure that services are carried out according to technical specifications and meeting internal customer needs.
- Reporting and creating monthly metrics and dashboards.
Qualifications of the Category Manager-CapEx:
- Five (5) years of procurement or equivalent experience required. Experience and/or knowledge of Mining & Metals or Industrial industry preferred.
- Four-year degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
- Knowledge of contract terms and conditions, purchasing systems (SAP and/or other ERP software)
- Knowledge and experience with CapEx purchasing, supplier management, contracting and negotiations.
- Ability to build strong integrated teams while fostering the professional and personal development of team members is an absolute must
