Description

The Kentucky Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) is a multi-faceted agency that provides services and program to enhance the self-sufficiency of families; improve safety and permanency for children and vulnerable adults; and engage families and community partners in a collaborative decision-making process.
DCBS seeks a Case Management Specialist I who is driven to succeed in helping people and the vulnerable population. With professionalism and integrity, our agency offers public assistance.
The Case Management Specialist I will utilize the formal training provided to make eligibility determination for various public assistance programs. The employee is expected to perform at the highest quality to ensure services to the vulnerable citizens. This is a demanding position that requires maturity and self-discipline.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Learns to identify resources and appropriate referrals.
• Maintain contact with each participant to monitor/evaluate effectiveness of progress towards goals
• Refer and/or direct "job ready" participants to other agencies specializing in placement
• Respond to participant/provider questions regarding policy and procedure
• Interviews clients for KTAP and related programs.
• Track processing deadlines for timely case activity and case hearings.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
