Summary

Perdue AgriBusiness is seeking a Capital Project Manager in Salisbury, MD. This position will be responsible for the research, development, design, management and implementation of capital projects throughout AgriBusiness to improve manufacturing or maintenance processes, using project management best practices as defined by the Project Management Institute. To provide consultation and guidance to the facility managers for capital projects that will improve manufacturing and maintenance processes.

The Project Manager must be willing to travel 50% of time, or as directed by management, to support projects at Perdue AgriBusiness locations.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure capital projects comply with all local, state and federal safety and environmental laws, regulations, requirements and Company Policies, engineering specification, and procedures.
• Research, design, and develop capital projects that will improve manufacturing and maintenance processes.
• Manage, monitor, and implement cost control measures, utilizing project management best practices, to ensure capital projects are completed within or under projected budgets.
• Manage capital project implementation, utilizing project management best practices, to ensure interim and final completion dates are attained.
• Manage multiple capital projects with projected scopes ranging from $0 - $25MM, from start-up to completion.

Minimum Education

• In the absence of a degree, 5 plus years of related work experience will be considered
• Bachelors degree - Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Agricultural, or other Engineering related degree (preferred)

Experience Requirements

• Understanding of project management techniques
• Understanding of manufacturing technologies
• Must possess a valid motor vehicle driver’s license
• Understanding of standard software applications (Excel, AutoCAD, Word, etc.)
• If degreed, 3 - 5 years experience
• Strong communication, math, organizational, and analytical skills

Experience Preferred

• Project Management Profession (PMP) Certification preferred but not required, must be willing to gain certification within first year of employment if not currently certified.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Able to move freely throughout the AgriBusiness facilities to include climbing vertical heights (0 – 150'), carrying tools and equipment (0 – 100 pounds), exposure to extreme temperatures (0 – 100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 – 100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (SDS sheets available). Must be able to wear personal protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus. Required to travel to remote AgriBusiness facilities, vender, and customer locations. Able to use standard office equipment.
