Cad Technician Jobs

The CAD Technician is responsible for creating solid models and technical drawings for prototyping and manufacturing using design and drafting software - specifically SolidWorks. The CAD Technician will work closely with the Product Design and Resourcing teams to ensure that all aspects of the product design (materials, hardware specifications, dimensions, functionality, etc.) are correct and at a level to go directly into manufacturing.

Major Areas Of Accountability

• Other Duties as directed
• Produce high level technical drawings that are ready for manufacturing
• Accurately reverse engineer existing products for quoting and manufacturing
• Create accurate solid models of consumer products based on direction from design team
• Assemble and communicate new product RFQ packets to selected manufacturers
• Ensure the design and manufacturing quality standards are consistent and aligned to the brand position

Requirements For Position

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Product Engineering or Industrial Design is a plus
• Experience in working collaboratively in a cross functional team environment
• Ability to lead and manage multiple projects
• Experience with Solidworks FEA, Keyshot, CAM software prefered
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and Adobe Suite
• Good foundation in materials and manufacturing processes
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills
• Solid Works Certification - Mechanical Design
• 1-5 years SolidWorks experience
