Job Description

The Business Performance Analyst for Sales & Marketing for Pieology will be responsible for assessing the sales performance of all franchise and company-owned restaurants as well as measuring the effectiveness of the Company’s marketing campaigns. The position will provide meaningful analysis by working through complex issues and utilizing data to support decisions. The position reports to the Director Strategy & Special Projects and has high interaction with the Finance, Marketing and Operations teams. The position plays a key role in determining the business's ability to deliver on its financial commitments by directly measuring the performance of each marketing promotion, menu item, LTO, pricing decision, and other key business indicators.


In addition, this position also involves reporting on and presenting key business initiatives to Senior and Executive Management on a routine basis as well as partnering with other key stakeholders on analytics initiatives.


Required Skills

  • Sophisticated judgment and problem-solving skills based on advanced analytical capabilities in situations with complex scenarios and alternatives
  • Experience with Python, R, or any other statistical programming language is a plus
  • Strong ambition, ownership mentality, and entrepreneurial spirit
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of and experience working with big data, data visualization, machine learning (regression analysis, clustering, etc.), statistics and statistical modeling
  • Understanding of the retail and QSR industry preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL
  • Ability to put structure to ambiguous problems using exceptional analytical, research, and data modeling skills
  • Ability to work in teams, particularly cross-functional teams
  • Ability to mine large-scale complex data sets, extract insights, and communicate findings effectively
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, computer science, engineering, mathematics/statistics or related field *Upcoming grads welcome to apply!*


Responsibilities

  • Provide support on strategy for future marketing calendar by analyzing evolution of product mix, changes in sales channel performance, and effectiveness of online and offline advertising campaigns
  • Use data to recommend website and campaign optimizations
  • Monitor budget distribution and performance of paid ad campaigns
  • Understand and analyze the end-to-end customer life cycle focusing on improving customer lifetime value through retention and engagement
  • Aggregate data from multiple sources to present in a digestible and actionable format
  • Conduct competitive research and analyze benchmarking data
  • Report on marketing KPIs like sales, lead generation, conversion rates, website traffic, and social media engagement
  • Accountable for the preparation, in-depth analysis, and commentary of presentation materials delivered to Senior and Executive Management
  • Distill drivers of sales performance and communicate recommendations for changes effectively to various stakeholders
  • Research and implement marketing tools to support our promotional projects (automation software, social media scheduling, KPI reporting, etc.)
  • Enable data driven decision-making across the organization by supporting teams with analysis of various KPIs


Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
