Team: Data Science Team
Location: Remote
Pay: $20/hour
Time Commitment: 3-5 months; 40 hours/week

Internship Overview:
We're looking for a highly motivated and talented intern to join our Data Science Team for the summer. The intern will be assigned specific projects and tasks to own and complete. Since they will be joining a team with diverse skill sets and responsibilities, the intern will also be exposed to a variety of projects, tasks, and duties ranging across the fields of Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, and Data Science.
The ideal candidate for this role is prepared to work on a team in a fast-paced environment and is seeking broad experience in the fields of Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Data Science. This position will allow the intern to build and refine their skills by providing a supportive, knowledgeable, and hands-on environment. The selected candidate will gain exposure to the growing government technology industry, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company, and working within a comprehensive data science framework.
Responsibilities will include assisting our Data Engineer with Data Modeling in Snowflake and assisting our Business Intelligence Lead to create visual tiles in Looker. The intern will use Miro or some visualization tool to create a plan to organize our team’s Google Drive and then implement that plan. Additionally, they will be tasked with organizing our research and data questions into a repository so the Data Science Team can begin to work towards answering them. Other projects may be assigned as needed, such as helping to load data from old systems and files into Snowflake.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with data modeling
- Inventory and organize the Data Science Team’s research and data questions
- Migrate data from old systems and files into Snowflake
- Develop and implement a plan for reorganizing the Data Science Team’s Google Drive
- Create data visualizations in Looker
Skills & Requirements:
- Enthusiasm for learning new tools and programs (i.e. Looker, Mode, Asana)
- Strong oral, written, visual, and interpersonal communication abilities
- Enrolled in a degree program in a quantitative field (i.e. data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics, or a related discipline)
- An innovative and analytical mindset
- Basic SQL skills or a desire to learn SQL
- Excellent computer skills, including mastery of Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
- A positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and desire to work in a team environment
- The ability to take initiative and confidently navigate a fast-paced environment
