The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for interfacing with key stakeholders and applying technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including gathering requirements, application development, definition, and design. This position plays an important role in creating the high-level design artifacts responsible for design, development, and construction of reports and visualization solutions using Microsoft BI Technology (Reporting Services, Analysis Services). In addition, this position will develop and maintain strong client relations — developing new insights into the internal customer's pain points, and delivering actionable, high-impact results.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain all application development and user documentation.
• Develop data warehouse cubes and complex reporting solutions as defined by the business need.
• Solve user inquiries that arise during day-to-day operation.
• Work with users to support business applications and investigate operational problems/system requirements.
• Design and implement extract, transformation, and load (ETL) functions related to the loading of cubes and data warehouse.
• Plan and execute BI Application system upgrades and coordinate with data warehouses during upgrades of other IT systems.
• Work with consultants to deliver customer reporting and dashboard requirements.
• Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and technology staff, including consultants, to ensure that communication is open and ongoing.
• Configure and maintain security systems for user access.
• Monitor data loads to and from the data warehouse and correct issues that may arise in a timely manner.
• Develop and manage BI standards and best practices. Provide BI technical guidance and business liaison regarding data needs.
• Work with the data warehouse to perform source system analysis, identification of key data issues, and data profiling.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related degree and three (3) years of experience in software development life cycle, relational modeling, and dimensional modeling are required. Expertise in Power BI and DAX (data analysis expressions) and experience with SQL Server Reporting Services, and SQL Server Analysis Services, integrating with API’s (application programming interface) is required. Experience in Python, Azure Data Lake, and Azure cloud services is preferred.

Must have project management and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written with employees across all levels within the company.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
