Job Title: Business Development Intern
Reports To: Director of Business Development
:
The Business Development Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing non-partisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by completing essential tasks in the Business Development department. This summer we plan to launch a crowdfunding campaign and this intern will help us prepare and gather the necessary information. The Business Development Intern will be responsible for creating a finalized set of financial projects, assessing our business model, finalizing, and creating a short video explaining who we are and what we’re hoping to accomplish. This intern will work closely with the Director of Business Development, CEO, and Team Leads within the Business Development department while also working independently.
This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. Many people choose to extend their internship past the amount of time they initially committed to. Preferably, this intern will commit to at least the end of the Summer semester (August 31, 2023).
Compensation: This is not a paid position.

Responsibilities:
- Communicate with the Director of Business Development, Director of Business Operations, and CEO professionally about deliverables, timelines, business plans, and any ideas
- Creating a set of financial projects as we prepare to launch
- Compile materials needed for Crowdfunding Campaign
- Help assess and finalize our business model
- Create a a short video explaining who we are and what we’re hoping to accomplish
Qualifications:
The Business Development Intern should have the following skills, education, and experience:
- Ability to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to make deadlines
- Ability to attend weekly Business Development Department meetings
- Responsive, consistent, and effective communicator, even during conflict
- A self-starter who is willing to take initiative and complete tasks
- Ability to attend the weekly Organization-Wide meetings
- Google Suite experience a plus
- This role is mostly analytical, but if you are outgoing and willing to approach investors, venture capitalists, accelerators and others interested in startups, that would be a plus
- This role would be particularly good for MBA candidates or those working towards a degree in Business Administration, Finance, and/or related fields
- Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
