Manage the maintenance, operation, and improvement of the BAS System for an Industrial facilities equipment on utility systems: air handlers, chilled water & heating systems, gas systems, and air compressors/dryers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop tasks in coordination with other engineers as part of overall systems start-up and commissioning of mechanical, process, and electrical systems associated with semiconductor equipment manufacturing
- Creates difficult mechanical models and tolerance analyses to simulate mechatronic design concepts.
- Design control sequences with a focus on precision control, energy control, and energy conservation.
- Monitor and escort sub-contractors in performance of work.
- Consulting manuals, reading, and interpreting circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Provides consultation or training on topics such as mechatronics or automated control.
- Work with cross functional teams to perform root cause analysis, recommend solutions, and negotiate and execute contingency plans.
- Review procedures for and validate calibrating and repairing instruments and associated equipment.
- Supporting controls group in troubleshooting, upgrading and new installation of systems.
- Coordinate with Applied GIS to review network structure and redundancies for BAS and related systems.
- Coach & train Facility Engineers & Facility Maintenance Technicians on BAS.
- Develop & maintain system documents, including specifications & maintenance plans.
- Conducts complex studies to determine the feasibility, costs, or performance benefits of new mechatronic equipment.
- Develop user interfaces for advanced SCADA systems including engineering reports documenting design details and qualification test results.
- Designs advanced digital control systems and sequence of operation for HVAC mechanical systems, process systems such as compressed air, process cooling, cleanroom contamination control, electrical power distribution with limited supervision.
- Building Automation System (BAS) experience and familiarity with controls systems.
Functional Knowledge
- Strong knowledge in troubleshooting of motor controls, drives, and electronic components, as well as PLC & VFD programming.
- Working knowledge of low voltage electrical systems from 24VDC to 480VAC.
- Preferred experience with JCI Metasys systems.
- Working knowledge of VM Servers and networking.
- Understands the principles of measuring levels, pressures, temperatures, flow, and analytical processes using instrumentation.
- Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge in using hand tools, multi-meters, and testing equipment.
- Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines.

- 4-7 years of experience as Instrumentation & Controls technician in industrial/commercial environments.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrated with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

- Self-directed with the ability to be resourceful, plan and organize work.

Education: Bachelor's Degree

$120,000.00 - $165,000.00The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
