Job Description

Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a Billing Specialist in our New York City office. We offer competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package.

Position Summary:

The Billing Specialist is responsible for the accurate and efficient preparation of bills and invoices for various Billing Attorneys. This position is based in our New York office and reports to the Billing Supervisor and Director of Revenue Management. Candidate should be flexible to work overtime as needed.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Researches and answers accounting and billing questions
  • Reviews and verifies accuracy of billing and supporting documentation as required
  • Processes client bills using Pre-bill Viewer and paper bills via Aderant software
  • Executes, handles, and processes a high volume of complex bills
  • Reviews and edits pre-bills in response to requests from attorneys and legal support specialists
  • Undertakes special projects and ad hoc reports as needed/requested
  • Submits electronic client invoices and accruals via various e-billing websites using EHub/Bill Blast


Skills & Competencies:

  • Position also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines, effectively prioritize multiple tasks
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who can work well under minimal supervision, as well as take a proactive approach in being team-oriented
  • Candidate must be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Analytical with strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment, excellent follow-up skills
  • Must be proactive in identifying billing issues and providing solution
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor, and presentation
  • Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively


Qualifications & Prior Experience:

  • Aderant software, Concur, Prebill Viewer, and E-billing Hub or Bill Blast experience preferred, but nor required
  • Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly
  • Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required
  • Three or more years prior experience as a Biller within a law firm required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred


The expected annualized base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000. Salary will be determined based upon education, experience, job related factors permitted by law, internal equity, and market data, including geographic pay differentials in locations where market pay differs from the national average. Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program. Commuter and Transit programs may also be available in certain markets.
