Bike Officer, Security Jobs

YOUR MISSION (The ):
Incumbent must be friendly, courteous and level headed at all times, yet fair and firm in solving potential problems or guest concerns. Must be able to work under the guidance, leadership and direction of the Shift Manager, Lead/Supervisor and Dual rate Lead. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to perform essential duties in a satisfactory manner. The requirements listed are a representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The Incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the casino activities for the Virgin Hotel Las Vegas in accordance with corporate policy and Nevada State Regulations. Must possess mathematical skills, ability to observe and remember details, follow direction effectively and communicate in English. The Incumbent maintain a patient, friendly demeanor, possess effective listening skills, and have a proven record of good judgment. The Incumbent is responsible for the protection of the property, community policing, parking and traffic, crime prevention and service training. The Incumbent in this position is responsible for maintain good public relations, in assisting guests/customers and employees as needed.
THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties):

• Operates company vehicle in a safe manner.
• Maintain a current driver license
• Coordinate and provide for the delivery of emergency services to the property
• Composes accident/incident reports. Obtain statements, witness statements, surveillance request and required documents for report when necessary.
• Assists the casino management team in implementing and monitoring emergency procedures ensuring property and safe handling is such emergencies as fire, floor or bomb threat.
• May be asked on occasion to assist game and slots department in removing drop boxes.
• Ensures a safe and secure atmosphere/environment for customers and employees. And conducts himself/herself in a professional, courteous, and responsive manner which reflects positively of Virgin Las Vegas.
• Maintain order of the property at all times
• Assist in the coordination of some set-up and patrol of special events as required.
• Patrol of the property and perimeter on bike and/or vehicle to ensure safe environment: including traffic enforcement, emergency response, security enforcement, ECT.
• Maintain a clean driving records and provide a yearly report
• Completion and passing of the bike training program offered by PIMBA through LVCCVA
• Assist the management team in ensuring proper arrest procedures and detainment techniques are carried out in violations of the civil laws or company procedures: assists various local, state, and federal authorities in various activities and investigations to ensure that procedures and laws are observed.
• Make self-familiar of various ID's/ DL and check identification of all persons that appear to be under 21 years of age.
• Reports unsafe or hazardous conditions throughout the property.

WHAT IT TAKES (The Qualities We Look For)
Must have ability to:

• De-escalate and effectively address conflicts in a timely manner.
• Must be able to lift, push and pull barricades, bicycles, traffic control devises, drop boxes and cards up to 50lbs in weight.
• Assist sick or injured customers or employees.
• Communicate successfully at all times with customer as well as all levels of employees.
• Must be able to work in incremental weather to include heat, rain, wind ETC.
• Understand and become proficient with a variety computer programs.
• Must be able to identify and quickly respond to potential problems and conflicts and defend self and others in combative situations.
• Maintain physical stamina and proper attitude to work under pressure and deal effectively with guests, management and employees.
• Must possess reading writing and mathematical skills to write legible reports and effectively communicate in English with guest, employees and follow officers.
• Identify potential problems and report them in timely manner.
• Must be able to ride a bicycle and sit for long periods of time
• Make quick decisions, using good judgement and work ethics.
• Spend majority of the shift patrolling the exterior of the casino venue, and may be subject to varying levels of crowds and vehicular noise levels, the severity of which depends upon business levels.

THE WORKING CONDITIONS
EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES USED AND CLASS TO MAINTAIN:

• Daily bicycle inspections
• Hand held radios, computers, monitor, scanners, printer, fire extinguishers, vehicle boot, vehicle jump box and recording devises used.
• Daily vehicle inspections
• IMPA class bi-yearly, to be completed in the first year of hire date.
• Bi yearly first aid, CPR/AED training, to be completed in the first year of hire date.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

• Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
• Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
• Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Attend required training sessions offered by Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
• Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management
• Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee's department.
