In line with our continued growth, we are seeking a Benefits Specialist to join our team.
This is a remote, corporate position responsible for day to day administration of employee benefit plans company-wide. The successful Benefits Specialist will liaise with and advise departments on employee communications, compliance processes, and related internal protocols and resolve escalated issues with partnership from insurance carriers and/or third parties. Due to the dynamic nature of the role, schedule flexibility and the ability to travel are required.
Responsibilities
Administers employee benefits programs including: retirement, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance FSA, and others.
- Ensures accuracy of census files and benefit enrollments
- Resolves COBRA inquiries timely
- Handles leaves of absences cases, including: FMLA, personal, and COVID-related absences
- Processes ADA and other medical accommodation requests timely
- Oversees timely processing of workers compensation claims and OSHA logs
- Manages leave of absence benefits payments
- Remains abreast of COVID-19 guidelines and communicates updates timely
- Collaborate with, mentor and manage other HR team members
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Advises and counsels management and employees on: benefits, HIPAA best practices, legal updates
- Serves as main point of contact for escalated benefit inquiries, ensuring quick and courteous resolution
- Assists in evaluating specifications for new plans or modifying existing plans
- Develops and drives quarterly wellness initiatives
- Participates in safety and risk management assessments and programs
- Conducts informational sessions as assigned, including benefits orientations and safety informational sessions
- Reconciles benefits reports
- Handles Open Enrollment preparations, including: hosting webinars as needed, drafting internal communications, updating all relevant documents
Skills & Qualifications
- Managing and motivating administrative employees
- Benefit administration systems; bswift and Flores preferred
- Maintaining records and preparing reports, documents and filings.
- HRIS, UKG preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Office or Google Workspace skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related field with at least three years of experience preferred.
- At least five years of experience in related areas such as Human Resources or Benefits Administration required or
