Job Description
Role Summary


Join our team as a Bell Captain for Hotel Jerome, serving the needs of the business, our guests, and our colleagues by ensuring guests have a positive first and last impression when they arrive and depart the resort by greeting them, assisting with luggage, arranging/providing transportation, escorting guests to rooms, and accommodating guests requests as they arise.


Core Responsibilities


Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done! Within the Auberge family, our people always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their teammates. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:


Scheduled daily activities;Daily arrivals/departures, house count, special events, VIPs, features and services of the hotel. Review all arrivals prior to check-in to be familiar with guest’s needs & potential issues.


  • Follow up with guests to ensure their requests or problems have been met to their satisfaction. Serve as a departmental role model, and assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating and coaching employees. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Monitor all parking areas/levels; report any vehicle/safety hazards; unauthorized personnel or security problems to the manager.
  • Ensure completion of all other duties as assigned/delegated by management.
  • Continuously assist the Front Desk with updating guest profiles to note preferences, issues, birthdays, etc.
  • Communicate anticipated business demands daily with staff (arrivals/departures/events/special requests, etc.)
  • Answer departmental telephone within three rings, using proper greeting and telephone etiquette.
  • Communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments and personnel.
  • Ensure vehicles are released to guests upon proper validation of claim tickets.
  • Monitor flight information for guests who scheduled Private Airport Transportation to ensure guests are greeted accordingly.
  • Ensure guests are greeted and assisted curbside within 60 seconds of arriving
  • Ensure all public areas with focus of the front reception and lobby are clean and tidy at all times
  • Hold vehicles at hotel entrance in accordance with departmental policy and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper storing, delivering, and tracking of group/ individual amenity deliveries
  • Responsible for overall organization of the luggage room by keeping updated luggage storing, delivery, and shipping log.
  • Guests are introduced by name to the reception
  • Document phone requests for retrieving vehicles as specified.
  • Use good judgment and maintain discretion and diplomacy while performing job duties.
  • Ensure associates escort guests to rooms per Jerome’s Room Escort Procedures while providing detailed property & room tour
  • Ensuring staff remain up to date on all information
  • Assists guests with luggage automatically and escorted or directed to reception area
  • Relay accurate directions to guests/visitors on inquiries regarding destinations within the local area.
  • Be able to provide location of local attractions and activities
  • Handle guest complaints or problems immediately, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Accommodate all guest requests in a friendly manner.
  • Ensure agents advise guests and clients of parking procedures & park vehicles according to standards
  • Document location of vehicles parked in Rio Grande Underground Parking Garage and other offsite parking options.
  • Support team to reach common goals. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Report any vehicle damages to management staff immediately so the hotel can proactively resolve the issue directly.
  • Ensure security of vehicles and that the driveway is kept clear while vehicles are not parked or left standing in illegal spaces.
  • Assist with the training of any new bell associates, valet attendants, and shuttle drivers according to Jerome training programs
  • Organize daily guest transportation – (including private, courtesy, and group drives).

  • Excellent customer service
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of and lead a team
  • Ability to ensure security of vehicles and hotel property
  • Ability to maintain hotel’s standards, policies and procedures


Required Qualifications


  • Valid Driver’s License and excellent driving record
  • Ability to drive all vehicle types.
  • Prior supervisory experience or 2 years of bell associate experience


Physical Demands


  • Must have the ability to move/maneuver in an outdoor environment during the changing seasons
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 75lbs


Starting Rate: $21/hr
