Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Two year’s professional experience
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services (Master’s degree is preferred)

:

BSP's for Residential and Community Clients

STAFF RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct monthly staff meetings.
  • Conduct initial training with new trainees.
  • Training staff
  • Conduct ongoing training (hands-on, Habilitation, Communication, Behavior Management, 1:1 training w/management).
  • Educate staff by providing in-service sessions on such issues as: current applicable publications, videos, techniques, medications, Medicaid, etc..

CLIENT RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • IPPs/IEP-ensure meetings are scheduled in a timely manner and that the IDT objectives are implemented.
  • Monitor, report, and investigate suspected or reported abuse and/or neglect.
  • Attend all scheduled IPP's
  • Ensure the general welfare and safety of clients at all times.
  • Community Clients Personal visits/telephone contact to/with client's homes in order to assess the needs of client/family and status of services. Visits to the home and contacts by telephone will be scheduled according to the needs of the client and his/her family.
  • Maintain a link with other professionals involved with cilents to monitor needs and goals.

Behavior Support:

  • Write Behavior Programs with the Committee’s input.
  • Implement, train, and reassess data.
  • Take information before the Behavior Management Committee.
  • Assess, observe, and document needs.

Medical Needs for Residential Clients:

  • Ensure proper administration and documentation of medications.
  • Maintain communication with the resident’s family.
  • Ensure all medical supplies are maintained.
  • Ensure health and medications are maintained.
  • Be an advocate for the needs of the clients. Search out all necessary means to achieve appropriate services and objectives.
  • Monitor nutritional needs and weights.
  • Work with the nursing staff to train medical techniques and ensure OSHA regulations are implemented properly.
  • Maintain a positive relationship between the residents and their families, guardians, community support network and ASC (i.e. Case Management; Behavior Management).
  • Assist the nursing staff in keeping required medical evaluations updated and current.
  • Ensure all clients attend medical appointments with either a Manager or well-trained staff also in attendance.

Pre-Vocational Program Supervisor

  • Train Pre-Voc staff
  • Evaluate progress of programs
  • Employment goals.
  • Develop programs of instruction /training
  • Ensure employment related goals are in the IPP and general hab activiites are designed to support

ADMINISTRATIVE RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure Program Documentation Forms, Habilitation Plans, Task Analysis, Behavior Management Plans and corresponding data are documented properly and turned in on time.
  • Program Documentation
  • Complete BSP notes in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure that Incident Reports are documented properly and submitted within 24 hours of the incident.
  • Maintain all staff documentation.
  • On call duty.
  • Complete monthly Progress Reports
  • Maintain all current medical records, Behavior Programs, Habilitation Plans, etc. at both the residence and Client Records Department.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.10 - $19.71 per hour
