Job Title
B2B Marketing Events Manager
Overview
Mastercard Data & Services encompasses Mastercard's offerings beyond the transaction, providing customers across industries with a variety of solutions, from consulting, loyalty solutions, to data and analytics, to drive better business outcomes. The Data & Services B2B Marketing team focuses on driving revenue growth by designing and implementing end-to-end marketing campaigns.
This Americas events-focused role, within the Americas regional marketing team, will be responsible for end-to-end planning and execution of in-person events including hosted events for customers and prospective customers and Mastercard sponsorship presence at industry trade shows. The role will focus on events targeted to enterprise brands primarily across financial institutions, fintechs, retailers, restaurants, consumer goods manufacturers, and travel operators.
This role will focus on strategic planning of an Americas events calendar, end-to-end event execution, and event ROI measurement. The position will also be responsible for establishing event processes for the team globally and will provide guidance / best practices to colleagues executing events in other regions.
Role Responsibilities
Contribute to development of the Americas event strategy and lead the event planning and execution
Take a strategic, commercially oriented approach to events to ensure the events plan incorporates and reflects broader business priorities
Work with necessary vendors and event organizers to manage end-to-end event logistics including securing venues, managing F&B needs, and designing trade show booth activations
Manage on-site event logistics and execution including ensuring accurate and quality setup and managing on-site staff
Establish upfront goals for each event, evaluate program ROI and present performance analysis to management
Perform ongoing research for new event opportunities, including collecting feedback and maintaining event retrospectives, on our strengths and opportunity areas, as well as those of our competitors
Establish/refine event standard operating procedures and best practices to scale event excellence globally
Willingness to travel to support events frequently, roughly once or twice a month
All About You
Overall business aptitude and commercial orientation with an understanding of B2B marketing and business development strategies.
Strong understanding of the event management industry, including working with trade associations / event organizers, venues, F&B vendors, AV vendors, etc.
‘Customer first’ orientation, strong project management skills, keen attention to detail, and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
Adaptability: ability to act fast when unforeseen changes occur to ensure events ultimately run smoothly
Effectively collaborate cross-functionally including across other marketing functions, sales, strategy, and product management teams
Highly motivated, self-directed, and hard-working professional with ability to own projects from start to finish
Strong drive and interest in increasing responsibility, leadership, and professional growth
Excited to contribute to a growing, fast moving, and highly collaborative team with a ‘make-it-happen’ attitude
Ability to manage many competing priorities and events simultaneously
Experience with event tracking and/or CRM technologies like Salesforce a plus
The role sits on the Americas regional marketing team, so Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills are a plus
What makes the position great?
Flexibility to work on many new, challenging, and rapidly moving projects
Collaboration with exceptional peers and senior leaders who are passionate about what they do
Opportunity to make a tangible impact at a successful organization and significantly shape the events function at Mastercard Data & Services
