Role Summary


Reporting to the VP, Social Media, this role is responsible for maintaining the firm's social presence on all Morgan Stanley channels in a consistent manner that aligns with our brand voice. From crafting content that drives engagement and growth with new followers to helping grow the firm's influencer program, the right candidate has a passion for reaching target audiences with a thoughtful and innovative approach.


This is a visible role on the Brand PR and Social Media team that will put you in front of stakeholders at all levels across the firm and, as such, requires someone who has experience working collaboratively with peers and skillfully communicating the general and platform-specific editorial guidelines and best practices for social engagement.


It's an exciting opportunity on a nimble, creative team to help shape Morgan Stanley as a house of brands positioned for future prosperity and engage a next-gen customer base.


Responsibilities


  • Help evolve our influencer program across Instagram and TikTok to ensure we're effectively engaging new audiences through creators while mitigating risk to the brand. Identify new influencers to help establish a roster of micro and macro partners.
  • Contribute to the expansion of our employee advocacy platform by working closely with key stakeholders to craft content that is in their voice.
  • Test and learn! Explore new social media platforms, franchises and assets (e.g., IG Live, animated explainers etc.).
  • In partnership with peers, liaise with vendors and platforms to optimize results and identify opportunities for new platforms and tools.
  • Maintain a robust social calendar that clearly defines content, cadence and channel.
  • Maintain close relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop unique social-first ideas and content that includes visuals and videos.
  • Work with broader content, marketing and communications teams to amplify brand stories in a compelling way.
  • Craft social posts for all brand channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, that express the firm's unique voice and engage existing and new audiences.
  • Manage relationships across legal and compliance to coordinate the approval process for each post.
  • Stay abreast of cultural and market trends that can inform platform or content strategy in real time and longer term.
  • Collaborate closely with VP, Social Media and brand team to evolve our social media templates and create one consistent identity for content that is unmistakably Morgan Stanley. In tandem, evolve the manner in which we're speaking to audiences on social so that it's more conversational and accessible and look to create more content that is social first.


The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience crafting social content for an international brand (experience in financial services or other regulated industry is preferable but not necessary), including within a marketing function.


This will be a proactive, motivated team member with excellent written and oral communication skills who has a passion for creative story-telling and the ability to position Morgan Stanley effectively for the next-gen consumer. A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work across multiple projects simultaneously is instrumental.


Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 80,000 and 110,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
