General Description:
In the Office of the Registrar, the primary responsibility of the Associate Registrar, Online Student Success Coordinator position is to Provides leadership and guidance in the strategic planning, implementation, coordination, and operation of the GSU Online Student Success coordination and management. This includes compliance, oversight of program management for gap student needs, personnel management for task completion, reporting, data quality assurance, file tracking for special programs, evaluation of student needs and establishment of goals and objectives for the program quarterly and annually based on university wide strategic vision provided by AVP & University Registrar or the highest echelon of Student Success leadership. Aid in developing policies and procedures, interpreting rules and regulations, establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools for determining progress, and coordinating with internal departments and outside partner organizations in support of the program at the University student success level as well as outside of the University with organizations such as the USG or SACSCOC. Also, additional ad hoc reporting will be required.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor the decision process for competitive or special admit completion programs to aid in the gap decision areas for students who may not meet all special secondary requirements for program and aid them in finding the resources to get into a program for progression; Aid the review and follow up for transient students who go from GSU to other institutions in the summer and work with the UAC on articulation of course work; Review and assess program mapping with respect to University Scheduling and aid in QA of the setup and design of schedules for these programs.
- Creates and maintains a vision for an inclusive college environment that addresses the unique needs of on-line learners; Collaborates with faculty and staff from all departments across the university to plan, organize, and direct activities and programs related to on-line students to support their access, retention, and graduation rates.
- Aids and assists with processes and procedures for returning to GSU transient coursework for ensured continuity and completion of degrees.
- Partners with external and community-based organizations with interest in on-line education and maintains a network that supports on-line students, to include all learning levels at Georgia State.
- Streamlines processes and procedures to provide a seamless transition for students transitioning in the Online environment to or from Atlanta; Develops, implements, and supports training efforts for staff within the student success division or on the GSU Online Academic Affairs team with respect to monitoring, tracking, and coding of this population.
- Collaborates with the University Marketing/Public Relations Department to create, develop and disseminate promotional materials, using paper materials and via a robust web presence; Serves on committees, task forces, professional groups, boards, and other activities.
- Prepares and presents accurate and concise reports and effectively communicates with employees and customers at all levels, to include formal presentations with a variety of individuals, groups, and stakeholders; Identifies problems, evaluates alternatives, and implements effective solutions.
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a related field and five years of supervisory/management experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating a knowledge of registrar-related functions, processes and laws governing student records and on-line learning environment and platforms.
- Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), Argos, SQL, and Salesforce.
- Ability to multi-task; pay attention to detail; and exhibit excellent customer service skills.
- Must have a collaborative, energetic and resourceful work style.
- Must have a working knowledge of integrated student record data systems, such as Banner and Banner Workflow.
- Must have demonstrated leadership experience and solid personal understanding of being an on-line learner.
- Demonstrates advanced administrative skills in an office environment to facilitate numerous programs and services.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates superior organization, communication and listening skills, and must relate to others in a pleasant, professional manner in-person, on the phone, and via email.
