The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for an Associate Government Grants Analyst! This position will work in a hybrid setting (in office 3 to 5 days a week.

Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for processing the accounting, performing analytics, ensuring compliance, and providing reporting, for assigned government grants awarded to the American Heart Association. Meeting all required deadlines related to Government Grants assigned.
- Provide excellent and timely customer service
- Compile and review all non-labor expenses to be charged to the government and review supporting documentation for allowability of expenses. Prepare reimbursement requests to government for review
- Prepare audit work papers as requested for internal and external government audits
- Communicate and act as key contact and customer service provider for senior management, grant operations managers, Office of Funded Programs personnel, Legal, Procurement, and Grant Directors for assigned grant(s)
- Monitor Grant staff time in the time tracking system on a bi-weekly basis. Ensure the accuracy of reports in the time tracking system
- Review expense disbursements on a daily or weekly basis for accurate account coding and communicate with grant staff and management to ensure expenses are recorded accurately
- Interface with the Association's external auditors on assigned grants
- Instruct grant staff, as needed, on appropriate reporting of (1) time and effort; and (2) travel and business expenses
- Research, analyze and prepare a variety of financial and governance reports related to state and federal government grants
- Assist in ensuring the Association meets regulatory requirements as directed by 2 CFR 200/Compliance Supplement
- Review budget to actual expenses to assist in monitoring status of expenditures for over/under spending
- Prepare all work with accuracy and in accordance with Single Audit regulations to support quarterly [or monthly] reporting and drawdown schedules for federal funds. Meet deadlines for reporting allowing time for appropriate reviews
- Maintain understanding and apply new or revised federal grant requirements and regulations when issued

Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in general accounting, financial reporting, or audit
- Microsoft Office 365
- Ability to work against deadlines to provide end products
- Excellent in oral and written communications with ability to communicate with all levels of an organization, both internal and external
- Ability to analyze financial data and interpret into narrative form
- JD Edwards E1 a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study
- Comprehensive skills with automated accounting packages
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic knowledge of completing an annual audit
- Minimum Intermediate Excel
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
