Associate Editor/Fact-Checker Jobs

B2B publishing group covering the media business is looking for a sharp fact-checker and copyeditor to join its editorial team. Writing responsibilities will expand with experience.

Primary responsibilities include:

·Fact-checking copy for print and digital publications.

·Copyediting for grammar and style across all content.

·Writing daily news items and brief company profiles, with further expansion to longer pieces once the basics of our industry are understood.

·Assisting senior staff in a range of tasks, including photo-sourcing, social media posts, managing video materials and proofreading promotional assets.

Must have:

·Minimum 2 years of experience

·Experience in fact-checking

·Strong proofing skills, with the ability to spot grammatical mistakes and styling inconsistencies

·Writing skills

Will work across:

·Daily newsletters: fact-checking, proofreading, news item contribution

·Weekly newsletters: fact-checking and proofreading at first, eventually moving to contributing short trend pieces and Q&As.

·Monthly digital editions & print issues throughout the year: fact-checking, proofreading, eventually moving to contributing short profiles and features.

Hybrid role: remote working, 1 day a week in office (Wednesdays) located in Flatiron District in Manhattan - use of home computer, Slack, Google Docs & Adobe Reader

• Salary: $42,000 – 45,000 + Medical Benefits After 3 Months
