JobSummary: The newly relaunched Union Square & Co. is an independent trade publisher that showcases top-tier talent and brands and gives space to unique perspectives and strong voices in adult and children’s publishing. WhatYouDo:

  • Collaborate with marketing, publicity, and sales teams to best position authors and their books in the marketplace.
  • Present titles at sales conferences and account-specific presentations.
  • Oversee co-edition/licensed title list management, working with multiple vendors as well as department editors to ensure a strategy-driven co-edition program that supports the overall list positioning.
  • Oversee acquired nonfiction titles from start to finish, including agent and talent relations, contract negotiations, manuscript editing, project schedules, and creative direction.
  • Acquire, edit, and package 20-25 titles per year, including original projects, licensed content, and educational program line extensions.

  • Strong interpersonal and organization skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain author and agent relationships.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Exceptional writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience working with book titles from original concept to bound book.
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 4 years of editorial experience in acquiring and developing content for kids and teens.
