Associate Art Director - Bloom Books

Sourcebooks is looking for an Associate Art Director with 4+ years of experience who has a love of typography and will create breakthrough cover designs, is exhilarated by the rapidly changing marketplace for romance books and is passionate about working in the romance space. This position will focus primarily on our Bloom imprint, one of the fastest-growing segments of our business today. You will collaborate with Senior Art Directors to drive the creative vision, art style, and final packaging for assigned titles, watching developing trends, learning and knowing what is working and what can elevate a package to drive point of sale in the marketplace.

• Collaborate. You will successfully work with the Editorial, Marketing, Sales, and Production teams to turn ideas into tangible products. Be a skilled consensus builder with strong persuasion skills.

Minimum Required Skills/Education:

• Experience in hiring and negotiating with freelance resources a plus.
• 4+ years of progressive experience in art directing or designing books or other similar consumer products.
• Expert skills in Adobe Creative Suite
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a design or art field. Experience working on books or with a trade book publisher highly preferred.
