We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 160 integrated programs in: Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. PROGRAM(S): Community Schools: CAMBA administers school based Community Schools at P.S. 198 in East Flatbush and P.S 308 in East New York. Community Schools are run in partnership with other community organizations to embed expanded learning time, health and wellness resources, and social services into schools. Community Schools are defined as an equity strategy to organize resources and share leadership so that academics, health, youth development, and family empowerment are integrated into the fabric of schools. Activities and services are available after school and reach thousands of people per year.

Position: Assistant Youth Facilitator

Reports To: Assistant Program Manager

Location: 4105 Farragut Rd, Brooklyn, NY 11203

What The Assistant Youth Facilitator Does:

The person filling this position is expected, under close supervision, to assist the Youth Facilitators by: (1) assist the Youth Facilitator to maintain order during and in-between various activities; and (2) work closely with small groups of children and/or youth; including the following:

• Actively support students in following program guidelines on a daily basis.
• Actively supervise students in the hallways, bathrooms and classrooms to ensure a safe environment.
• May prepare requisitions for instructional materials and supplies.
• Adhere to program polices regarding student arrival and dismissal, snack procedures, transition procedures and trip guidelines.
• Assist in classroom setup before and after program activity.
• Act as a leader under site specific circumstances provided with lesson plans for daily activities.
• Assist in taking daily student attendance.
• Actively support program leader/program specialist in the implementation and documentation of program wide incentive programs with students on a daily basis and provide follow up on a weekly basis.
• Ensure the safety and security of each program participant by following CAMBA Community School protocols and procedures including but not limited to procedures and protocols regarding safety, supervision, accident and incident reporting.
• Distribute, collect, store instructional materials and/or sports equipment/games.
• May type and copy instructional materials for distribution.
• Assist in the facilitation of activities.
• Tasks may be modified, expanded and/or assigned over a period of time.

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

• Current high school student

Other Requirements:

• Must obtain Dept. of Health, Dept. of Education fingerprint clearance; doctor's note certifying good health; proof of negative results from TB test; and State Central Registry (SCR) clearance.
• Ability to maintain State Central Registry (SCR) clearance and fingerprint clearance throughout the duration of employment.
• Ability to adapt to the culture and environment of a public school.

Compensation: $15.30 hourly

When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.
