Job Description


The Assistant to the VP for Priority Projects will oversee and lead designated projects, graduate student recruitment, and partnerships with the Higher Education Student Affairs program for the division. Within all areas, research, assessment, and inclusive excellence will be deeply embedded. This leadership role ensures student success and holistic learning environments occur at Ohio University.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Priority Projects


Guide and assist work groups on priority projects identified to support the division’s strategic needs. These projects will range from short-term measures to multi-year initiatives focused on positively enhancing the division and creating successful national recognition. Tasked with assisting and guiding the assigned units, measurable action items will be identified and regularly assessed, budget needs will be determined, deadlines will be set, and work groups will be convened.


  • Future of Student Affairs


Develop a road map for focus areas and potential strategies that best support student success, belongingness, retention, and completion. Research, analyze, and propose specific, cutting-edge recommendations for how the Division of Student Affairs should frame our work for the next 5-10 years.


  • Academic Partnership


Research and develop a comprehensive plan for the division and partnering academic units that includes recommendations for future graduate assistant recruiting, on-boarding, and training to ensure long term success for all stakeholders. Collaborate with faculty and staff in partnering academic units to determine the projected value of an undergraduate certificate program connected to the career development and skill sets needed to support student success in student affairs units.


  • Assessment


Partner with, consult on, and recommend appropriate assessment design, analysis, and reporting for the division’s assessments of co-curricular experiences. This includes, but is not limited to, assessing the impact of established learning outcomes on division-wide student employment practices, supporting all Higher Learning Commission division activities, supporting ASSUR reporting, analyzing division assessment data, implementing new assessment projects and processes when necessary, and overseeing all division wide assessment activities.


Responsible for GA’s and Pace students when needed.


Minimum Qualifications


Master’s Degree


At least three (3) years of work-related experience.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Doctoral degree preferred.

Advertised Salary


The salary for this position ranges from $68,299 and $80,252 but is commensurate with education and experience (also considering internal equity).
