Assistant Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for a Restaurant Assistant Manager to ensure all daily activities run smoothly and efficiently. To be successful in this role, you should be familiar with restaurant operations and have a good understanding of what makes great customer service. You should also be available to work within opening hours, including weekends and holidays. Ultimately, you will help minimize operating costs, boost our employee retention and deliver a positive dining experience for our guests.

In addition to being a server, assist Manager with the following duties/responsibilities:

• Oversees food preparation, ensuring compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Conducts daily inspection of restaurant and equipment to ensure compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards.
• Handles customer complaints, resolving issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner.
• Collaborates with chefs to develop appetizing menus.
• Ensures compliance with alcoholic beverage regulations.
• Prepares and submits operations reports and other documentation requested by headquarters.
• Estimates food and beverage costs.
• Maintains sales records and tracks cash receipts.
• Periodically evaluates restaurant equipment for repairs and maintenance; schedules for service.
• Ensures customer satisfaction with all aspects of the restaurant and dining experience.
• Manages inventory and purchases food and supplies.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
• Some supervisory and leadership skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.

Education And Experience

• Previous restaurant server experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.

Salary: $18 per hour + tips
