Assistant General Manager
Objective:To act primarily on behalf of the club and company as Sales Manager in achieving and/or exceeding club membership sales goals and production. To lead, manage and train club staff according to the company’s Mission, Vision, Pillar of Success, Service Standards and Business philosophy and continually provide optimal performance for; net member growth and retention, and club profitability. The AGM will also manage revenue and non-revenue performance and when appropriate payroll budgets in order to maximize profitability. Ensure there is coverage at all times with well-trained, motivated sales staff and work collaboratively with the other AGM when present in club.

Requirements
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Monitor and update club production sheet daily.
• Oversee all club operations and staff as manager on duty when GM is not present.
• Maintain consistent sales production for the club by motivating sales staff to hit goals on a monthly basis.
• Track Membership Directors’ production by monitoring appointments, show and closing ratios.
• Provide excellent customer service at all times.
• Assist Membership Directors with sales, prospecting, and membership assists.
• Integrate new members into club by scheduling consultations, involving them into programming and making follow up calls per AFF sales systems.
• To Get & Keep Members
• Work well and communicate effectively with all department heads, club staff, management and corporate staff to ensure good communication and integration of all departments.
• Provide TOs for Membership Directors.
• Track and provide sales production reports/recap to General Manager including walk in statistics, appointments, closing ratios, show ratios, total production and projections, and referrals.
• Oversee member retention by contacting all new members on an ongoing basis as designated by AFF sales system’s retention follow up schedule.
• Train sales staff on all paperwork: contracts, freezes, status changes, and cancellations, etc.
• Handle all Membership Directors’ personnel actions forms for vacation and sick days in a timely manner. Provide PAs to General Manager to sign. Maintain updated personnel information and files including contact information and copies of all personnel matters.
• Check paperwork daily for accuracy.
• Enforce club policies including contract policies, guest policies, KidZone policies and other club rules.
• Provide effective feedback to sales and management staff on a daily basis.
• Provide ongoing coaching and motivation for sales team including conducting weekly sales meetings. Create agendas for training and meetings.
• Other duties as reasonably assigned.
• Fill out Disciplinary Action forms when appropriate. Maintain copies in personnel file.
• Hire, train and motivate Membership Directors.
• Provide documented coaching for sales staff not meeting goals and evaluate performance; use disciplinary action as needed including dismissal if warranted.
• Motivate sales team to support and promote club programming.
• Maintain awareness of updates in all departments and provide updates to sales staff.
• Process all contracts, renewals and member changes properly.
• Train sales staff on all admin duties including use of all AFF sales systems.
• Monitor and assist Membership Directors in sales prospecting including the use of lead boxes, distribution of passes, participation in community events and community outreach/marketing.
• Perform duties of Membership Director when needed.
• Assist and be involved in Programming throughout club to maintain member participation and retention.
• Schedule Membership Directors to provide appropriate coverage in club and at community events as scheduled.
• Monitor leads using AFF sales systems: ensure that sales team is using software to track leads and are following up with all leads in a timely manner.
• Maintain a positive attitude with sales team, management and all club staff.
• Provide excellent customer service to members and prospective guests.
