: Volunteer - Great Lakes Christian Film Festival


Position Summary:

The Great Lakes Christian Film Festival is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as volunteers during our upcoming event, taking place from August 3rd to 5th, 2023. As a volunteer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the festival's operations and ensuring a memorable experience for our attendees. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of Christian cinema while working alongside industry professionals and fellow film enthusiasts.


Responsibilities:

  1. Venue Support:
  • Assist with the setup and teardown of festival venues, including seating arrangements, signage, and equipment.
  • Direct attendees to their designated seats and provide guidance as needed
  • Help ensure venues are clean, organized, and presentable throughout the event.
  1. Registration and Ticketing:
  • Assist with on-site ticket sales, check-ins, and managing guest lists.
  • Greet and welcome attendees at the registration area, providing them with necessary information, schedules, and materials.
  • Troubleshoot any issues related to registration or ticketing, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  1. Usher and Crowd Management:
  • Address any disruptions or emergencies promptly and professionally, seeking assistance from festival staff when necessary.
  • Assist with seating attendees, managing crowd flow, and enforcing venue rules and regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain order in the screening rooms, ensuring a respectful and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
  1. Guest and Filmmaker Assistance:
  • Serve as a point of contact for guests and filmmakers, providing them with necessary information and assisting with their needs.
  • Help facilitate meaningful connections between attendees, filmmakers, and industry professionals.
  • Coordinate and escort special guests to their designated areas, such as panel discussions, interviews, or networking events.
  1. Event Promotion:
  • Capture photos and videos of festival highlights for social media and promotional purposes.
  • Engage with attendees, answering questions about the festival and promoting upcoming screenings and events.
  • Assist with distributing promotional materials, such as brochures, flyers, and schedules, to attendees and local businesses.
  1. Miscellaneous Tasks:
  • Help with merchandising, concessions, or any other operational tasks required during the event.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude, representing the festival and its values at all times.
  • Provide general assistance and support to festival staff as needed.


Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and assist a diverse range of individuals.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to fulfilling assigned shifts and responsibilities.
  • Previous experience in event management, customer service, or a related field is a plus but not required.
  • Passionate about Christian cinema and the mission of the Great Lakes Christian Film Festival.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing circumstances and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from festival staff.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
