Job Description
If you love working in a therapeutic day school and want an exciting 20 hour per week position with excellent benefits, the Assistant Director of Admissions position is for you!


General Summary: Seeking clinical professional ready to assist the Director of Admissions with all aspects of facilitation of new admissions to the school. Gather and assess all clinical and academic documentation necessary to complete the application and intake process. Utilize clinical training and judgement to assess potential candidates for the school. Arrange school tours and admission interviews for those children and families who meet the admission criterion. Coordinate with the family and funders, once a decision has been made regarding eligibility for admission. Establish and maintain reciprocal relationships with referral and funding sources, including school districts, other treatment programs, and private practitioners. Maintain the electronic records system with all intake inquiries, referral documentation, completed applications, decisions regarding interview and acceptance, and admissions. Conduct pre-admission meetings with families in preparation for admission. Assist the Director of Admissions with marketing events and conference activities in promoting the O-School to the larger community.


Essential Functions


85% - Intake Coordination and Admission Facilitation - Receive and return initial intake inquiries. Educate intake callers on the program and referral process, funding options, and intake processes. Schedule and coordinate intake interviews, completion of application packets, and provide tours to prospective families. Coordinate and manage student tour guides from the student work program in the tour process. Assess all documentation in accordance with the O-School's clinical guidelines and treatment approaches. Ensure that intake packets include current clinical evaluations and educational reports. Ensure that Releases of Information are in place to collaborate with outside providers. Coordinate the admissions process with the students, their families, and all representatives of the student's treatment team. Complete admission and census activity reports for the Leadership Team and Board of Directors.


10% - Milieu Maintenance - Stay current in all policies and procedures for all-school programming. Attend staff meetings and participate in pertinent programmatic and clinical discussions. Model therapeutic and effective interactions with the students and families throughout all aspects of the admissions process.


5% - Other Duties as Assigned


Qualifications: Licensed or License Eligible clinician (Clinical Social Worker, Clinical Professional Counselor, or School Social Worker required, if license eligible, license is required within three months of employment; two years of child and adolescent mental health supervisory experience required; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required, excellent oral and written communication skills required, must be able to effectively (to a high standard) communicate with students, families, colleagues, over the phone, in-person and in all written communications, possess a strong commitment to strengths based perspective, empowering families, and a willingness to work in a high demanding work situation that requires flexibility and innovation, cultural competency required, physical capacity to be trained in and to utilize non-violent physical intervention techniques required.


Mental Demands: Ability to be well organized, task oriented, and capable of completing a number of responsibilities at one time. Must possess psychologically sophisticated understanding of mental health issues and their interventions.


Physical Demands: Stamina is necessary to assist with the running of a therapeutic day school. The physical capacity to be trained in and to utilize non-violent physical intervention techniques.
