Job Description
Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Admissions will assist the Associate Director of Admissions with the strategic management of the admissions process and operations. The incumbent will support data and admissions process management, application review and verification, student advisement, and other core functions of the admissions cycle. A strong candidate will understand the success of the NYU Wagner Admissions and Financial Aid team and contribute to increased enrollment by: a) participating in recruiting efforts, such as on- and off-site information sessions and yield events; b) advising and counseling prospective graduate students on financial aid options, admissions requirements, and application procedures; c) evaluating and assessing student applications to determine if applicant fits the desired student profile and whether or not the student would have a successful and positive academic experience; d) assists in application processing operations, including implementing the processes and systems needed to support data imports and exports (including applications and test scores); e) researching new schools and student pipelines, and managing logistics for all Wagner local, regional, and national prospective student recruitment activity; f) managing prospect engagement programs with Wagner faculty, current students, and alumni; g) supervising and training student and temporary employees on certain aspects of projects; h) managing the temporary staff budget and assisting with budget forecasting and development; i) travel to represent NYU Wagner at recruitment fairs, conferences, and other events to engage with potential applicants and share information about the school's offerings; j) assist with establishing and maintaining relationships with community organizations, and educational institutions to promote NYU Wagner and its graduate programs; and k) be comfortable with generating weekly reports on recruitment pipeline activities, applicant trends, and yield rates.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Administration, Education or related fields is preferred.

Required Experience:
3+ years 3 - 5 years related experience in recruitment, advising, admissions or student services.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
This position requires excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills as well as strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Must be able to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies with a high degree of customer service orientation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to acquire technical and functional proficiency with new software applications. Previous experience with educational databases, as well as experience collecting and analyzing data using tools such as Excel.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge or personal experience with graduate-level coursework is desired. Experience manipulating and presenting data in a visually compelling way to leadership. . Prior experience with Slate or similar prospective student CRM.
Additional Information:
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $67,107.50 to USD $87,107.50. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
