This is a 50%, six month reassigned time opportunity for an existing faculty member.
Primary duties of this appointment:
To assist BSOM departments in the recruitment of faculty. Engage in initiatives to educate chairs, faculty, and search committees about best practices in recruiting and onboarding faculty.
Advise Medical School leadership on issues affecting faculty success and develop strategies to support Medical School goal of increasing faculty vitality.
Collaborate with the Associate Dean of Office of Faculty Development, department leadership, and BSOM to ensure the appropriate processes are in place for the development of faculty across the continuum of their careers. Identify and foster effective open recruitment processes, orient new faculty, provide mentoring and developmental opportunities at all career stages.
Represent the Medical School at the national and campus levels on policy issues relating to the appointment and development of faculty.
Facilitate central management of faculty honors and awards, including internal and external opportunities. This includes notification to faculty of available awards and active identification of qualified candidates for each award and guiding towards application, working collaboratively with Associate Dean on awards pertaining to research.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed to accomplish the objectives of the Office of Faculty Development.
