Greystone Monticello LLC and its affiliates (“Greystone Monticello”) is a leading real estate lender and asset manager providing comprehensive capital solutions for multifamily, healthcare, and commercial real estate assets throughout the US. Greystone Monticello is seeking leaders and team players who can work in a collaborative environment and possess drive, integrity, creativity, compassion, and a strong work ethic.
We are looking for an Asset Manager for our New York City or Chicago offices. The primary responsibilities and qualifications include:
- Interface with clients, outside attorneys, and other investment stakeholders involved in a particular transaction to obtain required documentation
- Develop and manage financial models for the evaluation of investments in debt and equity across all real estate asset classes, reviewing potential transactions for the proper balance of feasibility and risk
- Assist in the preparation of loan commitments to borrowers
- Assist in commercial loan underwriting conducting initial and ongoing due diligence for loan transactions including evaluating appraisals, market studies, project capital need assessments, financial statements and credit reports for the project and its Principals, insurance policies and endorsements
- Work in the office as required by office policy
- Travel as required
- Review and interpret complex mortgage and working capital loan documents in order to enforce and forecast financial covenants, trigger events, and general loan compliance, identifying and escalating potential concerns
- Facilitate the company’s growth by identifying and developing process efficiency improvements, including the development and enhancement of the firm’s custom designed technologies
- Support the surveillance and asset management of Greystone Monticello’s portfolio of investments across debt and equity
- Supervise the review and processing of extensions, payoffs, amendments, advances, surveys, reserves, capex, and construction draw requests, and insurance proceeds
- Maintain direct daily interface with borrowers, financing counterparties, investors, and firm stakeholders
- Assist in origination and underwriting through data analytics, participation in site visits, and borrower financial and operational risk due diligence
- Monitor, analyze, model, re-underwrite, and report the following: property (occupancy, operating, strategic, clinical performance, changes to the competitive landscape), loan (financial condition), borrower (KYC, regulatory / reputational standing) and portfolio post-closing obligations information
Job Requirements:
- Extensive technology skills
- Passion for the firm and passion for what we do
- Intellectual curiosity, asking the “Why?” question
- Finance, credit, legal, real estate and/or business background
- Strong Excel proficiency
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Advanced financial analytical proficiency along with the ability to “see the big picture”
- Strong grasp of logic and data analytics.
- Established organizational skills and ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects
- Minimum 4 years of work experience
- Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with borrowers, financing counterparties, and other external parties

Greystone Monticello offers a competitive base salary and bonus. The base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000/year. The specific compensation that will be offered is based on an understanding of the hired candidates' qualifications at the time of hire. Employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on employee work performance reviewed during the annual review process.
