This position works in collaboration with the Region Director of Retail to drive performance against all KPIs within a Market, and will directly manage the DM, SIM, and RMS positions within their respective structures. The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will provide focused business ownership and employee development their respective Retail Sales Market. This engaging and knowledgeable professional conducts on-the-job coaching regarding selling skills, merchandising excellence, and order writing excellence training to help drive Mondelez International and employee performance.


Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:


  • Report program effectiveness and status of training delivery and performance results to Region Director of Retail
  • Serve a leadership role, that reflects the company position and vision
  • Manage succession planning within their Market scope
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Mondelez International core Values
  • Serve as the connection point within their Market for Retail and CS&L partners at a branch-level
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on the Mondelēz Capabilities processes, training programs and learning resources
  • Champion and leverage Mondelez Training and Capability Programs to drive employee development and performance
  • Own all key Retail KPIs, including (but not limited to) Performance vs. Sales Objective, Revenue, CPH, CPC, F&D, and OSA within their respective Markets
  • Assist in developing a high performing culture across the Market
  • Partner with Customer Business Teams to drive execution in the field and against customer plans
  • Work with Region Director of Retail, and any other relevant positions within their market, to drive effective, local action in the field
  • Lead their teams through change and periods of ambiguity
  • Assist on Market and Region calls, where necessary

Quantitative Dimensions


This position is responsible for field training and coaching implementation in an assigned geographic area. This position will have people management responsibility, with District Managers, Sales Initiatives Managers, and Region Merchandising Managers reporting directly to them.


Key Competencies:


Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). The ASM has excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload. The ASM must also demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable speaking to team members.


Requirements:


  • Ability to perform physical, demanding work in a fast-paced work environment and meet the defined physical activities (frequent lifting, bending, and carrying up to 25 lbs., occasionally over 50 lbs., pushing, pulling, kneeling, etc.) while adhering to the safety expectations and processes
  • A flexible work schedule maybe required, including being available to work weekends and holidays
  • Successful completion of drug test, MVR check, and general background check
  • You must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Previous Retail, Sales and/or Customer Service experience a plus
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Internet and Cellular/Wireless devices)
