General Purpose:
The Application Analyst II will report to the Applications Manager and is responsible for administering, analyzing, and evaluating current and projected computer-based application systems and procedures, as well as the design, implementation, and maintenance of revised or new systems. Reviews, records and reports of production, machine malfunctions and maintenance as well as organizational, procedural, and workflow plans and methods.
Although this position can be fully remote, employees must reside within one of Holland & Hart's 8-state footprint (Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming)
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Promote the use of technology as a means of efficiency, while adhering to best practices and technology policy.
- Must effectively prioritize work/projects and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Create and maintain procedures detailing the deployment of new client systems. Design automated procedures to create turn-key deployment to the greatest extent possible
- Research and evaluate hardware platforms for servers or PC’s of new applications or upgrade applications. Recommend specific configurations for future acquisitions. Evaluate existing hardware platforms and recommend upgrades and/or retirement.
- Work with other members of the IT Department regarding computer troubleshooting and technical support, to improve service, user knowledge and user self-sufficiency while providing the highest level of customer care. Utilize appropriate tools to provide end user support and issue resolution.
- Schedule system downtime through the Change Advisory Board for both recurring and non-recurring maintenance activity.
- Install and oversee the installation of upgrades and patches to those applications and ensure that the applications are optimized and maintained properly to ensure data integrity and reliability
- Engineer, implement and maintain system-wide client applications used by the Firm. Applications must be engineered for ease of use, reliability, and maintainability. Applications must also be engineered to maximize functionality. Implement and maintain virus scanning software on all desktop systems.
- Create thorough documentation for all applications including, engineering details, implementation/installation procedures, usage policies, and maintenance procedures.
- Performs functionality testing of new technology prior to end user rollout.
- Viewed as a subject matter expert within the organization.
Job Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification):
- Bachelor’s in information technology or relevant field; Or high school diploma with four years IT experience with hardware and business applications.
- Preferred experience maintaining one or more of the following:
- 3-5 years IT experience with hardware and business applications.
- 5+ years’ experience working at an AmLaw 200 firm or other professional services partnership is preferred.
Aderant Expert or Elite, supporting law firm finance functions
Relativity, supporting e-Discovery teams
Intapp Open or Intapp Walls, supporting of Intake or Ethics teams
- Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team.
- Must effectively prioritize work/projects and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Assume the role of IT project leader, as required, on small to medium size initiatives, including technical upgrades.
- Participate in development and review of technical designs within area of expertise.
- Perform applications performance monitoring and management.
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work in a very fast paced environment.
- Proficiency with MS SQL Server and the t-SQL language is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee must have the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of at least ten (10) pounds; have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on a computer and/or related office equipment; speak clearly and concisely so listeners can understand; and regularly understand the speech of another person.
