JOB TITLE: Segue Behavior/Discipline Assistant TYPE: Full TimeThis job description has been prepared to assist in evaluating various classes of responsibilities, skills and working conditions. It indicates the kinds of tasks and levels of work difficulty required of the Behavior Discipline Assistant at the Segue Institute for Learning. It is not intended to limit or modify the right of any supervisor to assign, direct and control the work of employees under his/her supervision. The use of a particular expression or illustration describing duties shall not be held to exclude other duties not mentioned that are of similar kind or level of difficulty.
Oversee implementation of RTI Tier 2 and 3 Behavioral Interventions* Check N Connect, Take 5s, Brain Gyms, Chart Moves, etc. Keeping accurate records and progress monitoring of student performance and interventions* Assists teachers in the classroom as needed* Duties will include, but are not limited to: responding to Office Referrals, coordinating detentions, in and out of school suspensions, overseeing in-school suspension, organizing student mediations, support school wide policies, breakfast and lunch monitoring* Coordinate all appropriate documentation Participates on the Student Support Team, 504 and R.T.I team (as needed) Assists in Emergency Crisis plan implementation, trainings and drills Assists and supports team members and their respective sub departmentsQUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidates will be entrepreneurial, collaborative, willing to go the extra mile, and be deeply committed to enabling Segues youth to achieve excellence in their lives as young adults, imparting life skills and promoting character development to lay the foundation for their pathway to college. Hold at least Bachelors Degree (Masters a plus). Be a dedicated, highly-motivated professional with a strong work ethic who is trustworthy, high energy, flexible, organized, self-directed and takes initiative Ability to work with others in a collaborative team environment Experience with college/career advising and/or guidance counseling in a school or nonprofit setting Experience working with urban students and their families Successful experience working effectively in partnership and collaboration with a broad range of individuals and constituencies of diverse backgrounds Successful experience in a school or non-profit setting Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Reliable transportation and valid Rhode Island Drivers License required Multi-lingual language skills are a plus (preferably Spanish and English) Supervisory experience a plus
