Summary of Role:

Raytheon Technologies Global Infrastructure Services is seeking an experienced and motivated technologist focused on the design and automation of Linux and Windows virtual machines within Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructures. As part of the Cloud Center of Enablement they will work within an Agile product team to develop foundational enterprise integration capabilities, service guardrails, self-service automation, continuous compliance, operational processes, and documentation to comply with IT policy and Global Trade regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues, communicating and documenting procedures, and recommending architectural changes when necessary.
• Ensure service compliance with RTX IT Security policies, NIST 800-53, and CMMC control requirements.
• Develop post provisioning final-mile hardening and management automation to complete the configuration of virtual servers
• Provide self-service provisioning and management automation for bimodal applications teams – supporting both traditional IaaS workload and modern serverless applications.
• Transition solutions to steady state operations following enterprise ITIL processes and provide escalation support
• Engineer and automate DoD STIG compliant “golden” Virtual Machine Images and build pipelines for Linux and Windows based workloads
• Implement end-to-end asset and configuration management for cloud based virtual servers
• Work within an Agile product team, taking objectives from the product owner, breaking them down into detailed increments, and delivering committed capability on-time.
• Develop automation solutions using 3rd party solutions, infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, Ansible and/or direct API integrations with Python based functions.
• Implement robust patch management and maintain configuration compliance within the fleet
• Author service collateral, design artifacts, and support documentation to enable scalable adoption.
• Design and implement critical event detection and notification to support implemented solutions
• Drive a self-service automation-first approach, ensuring secure and scalable solutions that empower information system owners and stakeholders to rapidly deploy and manage application
• Implement Linux and Windows Identity and Access Management strategies to ensure least privilege access and enterprise Active Directory and privileged management integration

Basic Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Git and branching strategies, Python, Terraform
• Expert in RedHat Ansible
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, communication and technical skills are essential. Ability to build and maintain customer relationships; strong agile team player, able to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Redhat certified engineer
• Experience operating in US Government regulated environments with strict compliance requirements.
• Deep technical understanding of public cloud and enterprise infrastructure
• Experience with image management technologies
• Precise and accurate technical writing skills
• Microsoft certified architect

Education:

• Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
