Alabama Controller Jobs

The Controller has a CPA and works closely with the Chief Financial Officer, as well as the Accounting, AR, and AP teams and various affiliated departments across multiple locations. The Controller is responsible for daily banking, reconciliation of Accounts Receivables, PNL for United Johnson Brothers of Alabama & Mississippi locations, maintenance of the fixed asset ledger, various advanced analytical reporting using financial systems and Microsoft Excel, and more. The Controller acts in place of the Chief Financial Officer in his/her absence when required and is knowledgeable about all roles that fall under the Accounting umbrella.

• Must be 21 years or older
• Valid driver’s license for applicable state
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• CPA or equivalent experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Proficient in use of financial software
• Able to secure and maintain auto-liability insurance in accordance with state laws
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Cross-train job functions with other teammates
• Book and prepare cash receipts for previous day that United received to post payments to the customer accounts
• Perform functions of Controller when required
• Reconcile company bank accounts and monitor daily bank balance
• Maintain fixed asset ledger by logging new assets and setting up depreciations
• Perform various financial reporting (e.g. variance analysis)
• Prepare the Audit PBC Checklist for financial statement audits
• Reconcile Accounts Receivable to close the financial month
• Reconcile chargeback accounts on GL
• Assist in the coding of invoices and expense reports for the GL
• Manage Concur & Company Credit Cards issues & reconciliations
• Minimal driving and travel to other company locations or other locations when needed
• Reconcile various GL accounts
• Perform other duties as assigned
