POSITION: Program Instructor
LOCATION: School sites in Palmdale, Lancaster, Littlerock and Lake Los Angeles
STARTING PAY RATE: $17.50/hr
SCHEDULE: Part time. Afternoon shifts available. Approximately 3-6 hours per day. Schedule and shifts will vary depending on school site and season (school year or summer).
Ideal candidates are adaptable, energetic, motivated, and have excellent communication and organization skills. Ideal candidates have experience working with school age children in a teaching, tutoring, coaching, or leadership position.
JOB TYPE: Part-time
DESCRIPTION : Program Instructors provide supervision, tutoring, homework help, and lead enrichment lessons for elementary and middle school students. Candidates must be able to design, coordinate and lead organized sports activities and enrichment projects such as art, music, games, and drama.
REQUIREMENTS: Successful applicant must be 18 or older, a high school graduate, pass Livescan background screening, and provide a negative TB certificate.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Must be able to provide academic and mentoring support for students
- Supervise all program participants to ensure a safe and organized program
- Must be able to design, coordinate and lead organized enrichment and fitness activities with students
- Must be caring, encouraging, and capable of having positive interaction with students, parents, and team members
- Attend events and trainings in the evenings and on weekends as necessary
- Attend staff development trainings and workshops
- Assist with the recruitment and retention of students
- Assist with the planning and facilitation of special projects and events
- Perform other duties as assigned
