Position Summary

The Admissions Recruiter is responsible for analyzing institutional data and international trends to inform decision-making for a recruitment plan in support of the school’s enrollment and strategic plan, to diversify our pipeline. In addition to administers marketing outreach and communication w/ prospective individuals through various print, electronic, and web-based avenues, as well as personal contact.
OHIDS includes the Institute for Informatics, the Division of Biostatistics, and Becker Medical Library. This represents an alignment of critical units across the School of Medicine.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serves as a liaison to connect prospective students with key university resources. Schedules and hosts campus visits of prospects.
  • Collaborates with leadership to develop and execute a recruitment plan to support the University’s strategic plan.
  • Alumni Affairs – assist OHIDS and the Edu. and Workplace Development team to identify and cultivate partnerships with alumni and enhance the impact of the college alumni community globally.
  • Partners with the admission and recruitment team to develop and implement a communication plan for prospective/admitted students.
  • Queries and generates reports on recruitment and yield activities; analyzes and interprets statistics and data to determine pace and predict resource needs to meet short and long-term enrollment goals.

  • Represents the university at recruitment functions including graduate fairs; travel will include evening and weekend commitments, concentrated in the fall and early spring.
  • Represents the University to prospective students, communicating the distinctive aspects of the university, along with an in-depth knowledge of the university's mission and academic programs throughout the recruitment process.
  • Manages recruitment for assigned programs such as representing the university at recruitment functions, including graduate fairs; travel will include evening and weekend commitments, concentrated in the fall and early spring and manages recruitment for assigned Programs.
  • Other duties as required to support the mission of the University’s strategic plan.

Working Conditions

  • Up to 25% travel in early spring and fall.
  • Ability to travel to on- and off-campus locations, conferences, and events as required.
  • Position may require international travel.
  • Ability to work outside normal office hours as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with students.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work simultaneously with multiple projects.
  • Computer related coursework and graphic design skills are a plus.
  • Availability for evening/weekend activities and extended hours during peak seasons.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations including students, staff, faculty and external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a complex high-volume environment, prioritize activities and meet deadlines.
  • Function as a team member and demonstrate planning, initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple database systems.
  • Master of Business Administration or Marketing and Communications degree.
  • Must be eligible to travel as needed.
  • Business education and graduate recruitment experience.
  • Ability to market our programs using personal selling and marketing techniques.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline and three years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience totaling eight years.

Salary Range

$47,300.00 - $78,200.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
