The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) seeks a dedicated and responsible Regional Administrative Review Manager to join our dynamic team. In this crucial role, you will oversee, support, and engage in the investigative process of abuse, neglect, and mistreatment allegations concerning DDS service recipients.

At DDS, our Area, and Regional Offices handle investigations of abuse, mistreatment, and neglect of individuals with intellectual disabilities. With 5,000 cases processed annually, we conduct 1,400 formal investigations that uphold our commitment to justice and accountability. Our passionate team, including Program Monitors and ABI Risk Managers, diligently develops action plans based on findings while field staff meticulously reviews approximately 1,400 complaints. Our thorough evaluation of 1,300 "dismissal" cases ensures no stone is left unturned when serving our community.

Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all-inclusive):

  • Perform administrative reviews to ensure compliance and adherence to established protocols.
  • Produce comprehensive action plans for investigations.
  • Monitor the CRT process conducted by DDS field staff, ensuring completion within specified timelines and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with Program Monitors and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and effective problem-solving.
  • Assess trends and patterns emerging from monitoring activities, reporting findings to the Regional Director for process improvement.
  • Monitor the Incident Management system in the Home and Community Service Information System (HCSIS) for accurate and timely data entry.
  • Act as a liaison between the Area Office, DDS Investigations Unit, and Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC) investigations unit, ensuring efficient communication and coordination.
  • Complete the request for reconsideration of administrative reviews in collaboration with DDS Senior Investigator.
  • Serve as a valuable resource for DDS area offices and staff, providing necessary training and support.
  • Contribute to the Regional Mortality Review Committee, engaging in critical discussions to improve services and outcomes.
  • Undertake additional duties as requested by your supervisor or Regional Director to support the organization's objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of human services experience, demonstrating practical expertise and a comprehensive understanding of the field.
  • Bachelors degree preferably in Human Services.
  • Proven highly effective organizational skills.
  • Strong ability to interact professionally and appropriately with diverse individuals, both in an office environment and in the field.
  • Exceptional verbal and writing skills, enabling clear and concise communication with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data management and Microsoft Excel.
  • In-depth knowledge of DDS management hierarchy and functionality, optimizing navigation within the organization.
  • Demonstrated tact and diplomacy when communicating with DDS employees, Provider Agency Staff, family members of DDS clients, and other business contacts.
  • Capacity to proficiently navigate through the HCSIS web base, including generating reports to extract essential information.
  • Well-honed conflict resolution skills, ensuring effective resolution of challenges and fostering positive working relationships.

Qualifications

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) four (4) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.

Substitutions:
I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
II. An Associate's degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
III. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
IV. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience.
V. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.
