Job Description
Are you an organized and self-motivated individual who loves learning new things? The University of New Mexico-Taos is seeking an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join the Office of Academic Affairs. As the first point of contact at our front desk, you will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service and support to our faculty, students, and external stakeholders. This position offers diverse administrative activities, including collaborating with the Career Technical Education department, assisting with the Dual Credit Program, and supporting the Department Administrator. We're looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys staying busy!
Responsibilities
Serve as a central point of liaison, fostering positive relationships with customers, other departments, and external constituencies to address day-to-day matters.
Create, compose, and edit administrative correspondence and documentation, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.
Assist in problem-solving, program/project planning, and the execution of goals and objectives.
Conduct research, compile statistics, and generate reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries.
Schedule and coordinate events as required, contributing to the smooth operation of various activities.
Establish, update, and maintain digital files, inventories, and records, ensuring efficient organization and accessibility.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
At least 5 years of directly related experience.
Equivalent completed degree(s) from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects effectively.
Proficiency in using personal computers and software applications, such as Microsoft Suite and email.
Experience in project management and meeting deadlines.
Bilingual abilities are a plus.
Conditions Of Employment
If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required. Employees providing services in patient care or clinical areas must comply with the University's influenza vaccination requirement. This position is covered by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Compensation
This is a non-exempt position with an hourly pay range of $16.88 - $21.72.
