Job Summary
You'll be part of an inspiring remote teaching experience. You will lead a pre-internship preparation class that focuses on employability skills, educational engagement, and avoiding involvement in the justice system. Our unique curriculum takes a Friere-inspired critical pedagogical approach, validating and building on participants' experiences, cultures, skills, and interests while fostering discipline and accountability. By doing so, we equip our students with essential life skills, including critical thinking, communication, creative problem-solving, and resource management.
Responsibilities
Teach and manage class cycles, helping court-involved youth grow and succeed.
Engage and motivate students who might be resistant to traditional educational settings.
Tailor instruction to cater to individual learning styles, challenges, and strengths.
Link virtual classroom discussions to long-term goals, such as increased investment in education, employability, and sustained avoidance of further justice system involvement.
Offer ongoing support to participants, monitoring their progress, and addressing individual needs.
Provide guidance on educational, employability, and criminal justice avoidance goals.
Collaborate with our team to ensure the success of our program participants.

Enroll and retain students in each class, promoting program completion and success.
Maintain accurate records of student information in our database.
Prepare court letters and documents when necessary.
Meet and exceed performance targets to make a significant impact on our students' lives.
Qualifications
Availability during virtual class time and select mornings/weekends for court support and project development.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with teaching experience, preferably with system-involved youth.
Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in high school, non-profit, or alternative educational programs.
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
