WHO are we looking for?
CAPTRUST is seeking an Actuarial Associate who will work with our Financial Advisors, client services professionals, and occasionally directly with firm clients to fulfill investment-related projects and deliverables for prospective and existing clients. The Actuarial Associate assignments will include preparation of annual funding valuations, participant benefit statements, accounting expense reports and disclosures, government filings and benefit calculations for the company's client base. Projects include cost estimates for plan changes, postretirement welfare plan valuations, cash contribution & expense forecasts and actuarial studies for assumption changes. This is a full-time position working Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Updating valuation software for required changes, determining plan liabilities and reconciling plan assets
- Perform plan administrative tasks such as completing benefit calculations and projected benefit estimates, reviewing plan documents and SPDs, produce benefit statement, research and gather information
- Prepare contribution requirements and accounting costs
- Design, review and help administer retirement plans & perform annual pension and post-retirement welfare valuations for a variety of clients. While performing data manipulation and analysis
Qualifications
- Completion of a four-year college degree – Actuarial Science preferred, or other field with a proficiency in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or Accounting
Desired Qualifications/Skills
- Collaborative and team-oriented
- Significant experience with Microsoft products, especially Excel/PowerPoint
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, set priorities, and adapt to changing assignments
- Prior actuarial experience within a consulting firm is a plus
- Completion of at least one actuarial exam is preferred
