Accounts Receivable Specialist Jobs

Position Summary/Objective: Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for the monitoring accounts to identify outstanding invoices & contacting customer with past due balances to facilitate payment(s).. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed for the payment of goods and services.
Essential Functions: *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Duties include but not limited to:
Submit invoices via email, mail or online web-based applications for payment processing.
Research and resolve payment for disputed and short paid invoices.
File dispute for payment deductions or debit memos issued in error.
Review and place accounts on credit hold.
Monitor accounts on credit hold to determine actions needed to release orders.
Work collaboratively with appropriate departments to resolve customer disputes, inquiries and requests.
Maintain AR Master logs (spreadsheets), update status of accounts and collections.
Develop effective payment plan for past due invoices (when necessary).
Post customer payments by recording credit card, check and ACH transactions.
Process credit card payments for AR invoices.
Create and maintain customer account profile.
Process customer credit application.
Maintain AR invoices and files.
Prepare and provide AR invoices and reports during audit.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Handle customer requests for invoice copies and statements

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is sometimes required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move objects up to 20 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and a minimum of 40 hours per week is required.

Required Education and Experience 1. High school diploma or GED. 2. 2-3 years' previous experience.
Preferred Education and Experience 1. Associate's Degree in Accounting. 2. 3-5 years' previous experience.
