Job Description
Job Title: Accounting Payroll Manager (Hybrid)


Location: Alexandria, VA (onsite for a minimum of three days per week)


Duration: 12 months+


Position Overview


We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Payroll Manager for our client. The Accounting Payroll Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the execution of payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance with policies, and adherence to Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) agreements. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in PeopleSoft Payroll (v9.1 or v9.2), union payroll experience, and experience with payroll processes in larger companies.This role requires on-site presence in Alexandria, VA, three days a week.Key


Responsibilities


  • Update, revise, and enhance processing playbooks/procedures for Kronos Workforce Central and PeopleSoft Time and Labor and Payroll modules.
  • Conduct periodic reviews, including sampling, of information entered into weekly and biweekly payroll processing to verify accuracy and reasonability.
  • Monitor and review payroll processing execution, ensuring tasks are aligned with established procedures and policies.
  • Strengthen controls surrounding the historical correction process and meticulously document the correction process.
  • Collaborate with the payroll team to implement suggested improvements and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Analyze current time entry and payroll processes and deliver recommendations for process improvements and increased efficiency.
  • Provide oversight to the payroll team, guiding the execution of payroll processes and related calculations to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Review and validate manual payroll calculations for accuracy prior to inputting them into the system for processing.
  • Develop analytical reporting and metrics to optimize the payroll process, including tracking payroll-related tickets managed through CA Service Desk Help Desk solutions.


Required Qualifications


  • Demonstrated experience in payroll management within larger companies, with an understanding of complex payroll scenarios.
  • Proven experience in managing payroll processes within a unionized environment, coupled with familiarity with Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) agreements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the payroll team and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in developing analytical reports and metrics to enhance payroll process efficiency.
  • A solid working knowledge of Kronos Workforce Central and PeopleSoft Payroll (v9.1 or v9.2) is essential.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in payroll calculations and related processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide actionable recommendations for process improvement.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Prior experience in implementing and managing payroll process improvements.
  • Familiarity with CA Service Desk Help Desk solutions for managing payroll-related tickets.
  • Professional certifications related to payroll and accounting management.
