Accounting Manager - Acquistiions

We are seeking an Accounting Manager - Acquisitions, Hybrid Remote (office and home) to join a $1B company as an impact player, subject matter expert and as an Acquisitions Accounting process owner and. This role is responsible for leading the acquisition accounting, due diligence and integration efforts for approximately 10-20 business acquisitions per year.

• Perform technical research as needed.
• Healthcare industry experience a plus.
• Analytical and problem solving skills with excellent verbal and written skills, including Excel.
• Foster relationships and interface with internal groups (I.e. M&A, other accounting departments, FP&A, Real Estate, Tax, etc.) and external financial statement auditors to facilitate and lead acquisition accounting, due diligence and integration.
• Contribute to the development and education of accounting staff.
• Lead the annual evaluation of key accounting estimates associated with the acquisition process, including goodwill impairment, realizability of intangible assets, etc.
• Previous experience developing the framework for department collaboration on acquisition accounting, due diligence and integration.
• Build out future state acquisition process including due diligence, deal structuring, purchase price validation while demonstrating the value of accounting input to our M&A team.
• Big 4 experience is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to quickly develop working relationships across teams and to communicate both up and down the Corporate hierarchy.
• Master’s degree in accounting preferred
• Oversee the acquisition accounting process from the initial recording of the purchase accounting entry through the monitoring of acquired assets and liabilities during the remeasurement period.
• Coordinate with Controller and Director of SEC Reporting on accounting and reporting requirements for all acquisitions.
• Strong technical GAAP knowledge and prior experience with accounting for
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Previous experience designing and implementing process improvements.
• Monitor and review the work of a Staff Accountant.
• Continue & lead the further integration of accounting processes into the due diligence process prior to close of acquisition.
• 5-8 years of related acquisition accounting experience within a publicly traded company, including supervisory experience
• Review associated month-end and quarter-end close journal entries.
